| Syrah,
Ampelos Vineyard, Sta. Rita Hills, 2008 |
A beautiful effort, the opaque ruby/purple-hued, Mediterranean-styled 2008 Syrah Ampelos Vineyard exhibits a meaty, spicy, peppery personality revealing lots of roasted herb notes. Fleshy and medium to full-bodied, it should improve with another year or two in the bottle, and keep for at least a decade.91+

| Pinot Noir, Sta. Rita Hills, 2010 |
Exceptionally elegant ruby red color. There is a fresh femininity in this pinot noir that expresses the bouquet with floral hints of stone fruit, pink jasmine and rose petal. In the mouth this wine has a beautiful softness that is affluent and velvety throughout the palate. There is a play on acid and tannin in the mouth that lingers throughout. The palate sings with red raspberry, black leaf tea, chocolate and a hint of orange zest with cardamom spice.
This wine is from a combination of Melville, Turner, Kessler-Haak, and Rita’s Crown Vineyards, all within a 1.5 mile radius and all within the Santa Rita Hills AVA

| Pinot Noir,
Kessler-Haak Vineyard, Sta. Rita Hills, 2009 |
Deep, powerfully scented aromas of red/blue fruits, dried wild sage, kirsch fruit intermixed with notions of lavender, earth and spice. The aromas give way to the dense flavor of dark cherries, black currants and dried herbs. This wine displays an abundant texture from the stems, thicker skins, and native yeast fermentation. It needs 1-2 years more of bottle age and then should last for 10-15+ years.

92 Points – Josh Raynolds (November 2011, issue #159) |

| Pinot Noir, Turner Vineyard,
Sta. Rita Hills, 2009 |
Deep, bright red. Seductively perfumed aromas of red berry preserves, potpourri and sandalwood, with a peppery top note. Rich and lively, displaying very good depth and sweetness to its silky raspberry and cherry-cola flavors. Finishes smooth, sappy and very long, leaving spice and floral notes behind. Should last for 10-15+ years.

| Pinot Noir, Rancho La Vina Vineyard,
Sta. Rita Hills, 2009 |
Deep, powerful wine redolent of tar, violets, licorice, and black cherries, all of which come together on a powerful, focused frame. Round sweet and polished through to the finish, the La Vina shows off considerable class and pedigree. All it needs is more time in bottle. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018.
91 Points – Robert Parker (August 2011, issue #196)

| Pinot Noir,
Melville Vineyard, Sta. Rita Hills, 2009 |
Deep, bright red. Seductively perfumed aromas of candied red fruit and licorice, with strong violet and allspice qualities gaining strength with air. Juicy, palate-staining black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors are extremely youthful, offering an impressive blend of depth and energy and nicely lifted by tangy acidity. The floral quality dominates the long, sappy, impressively pure finish. There is a jewel like purity It needs 1-2 years more of bottle age and then should last for 10-15+ years.
